Intercultural Shabbat Celebration

Friday, October 4, 2013, 6:15pm

Santuary and Social Hall
26790 Arastradero Rd., Los Altos Hills, CA 94022

The face of the Jewish community is changing! At Congregation Beth Am, we are proud of our diversity. We have many members who come from non–traditional backgrounds, as well as interfaith families, inter–racial families, LGBTQ individuals and families, Jews–by–choice, and Jews and non–Jews who grew up in other cultures. You're invited to a fascinating evening of learning and celebrating our community's diversity. During the Friday evening service, we will hear from a panel of three congregants who come from diverse cultural backgrounds. They will share their stories, successes and challenges in finding their place in the Jewish community. Following the service, we'll gather for a community dinner and program on diversity sponsored by Be'chol Lashon, a San Francisco–based organization that seeks to "grow and strengthen the Jewish people through ethnic, cultural and racial inclusiveness." If you are interested in being involved during the evening, please contact Rabbi Adam, (650) 493-4661.
