ONE NECKLACE AT A TIME
ONE-OF-A-KIND ABAYUDAYA NECKLACES RAISE HOPE FOR UGANDAN COMMUNITY
Academy award winner Halle Berry has been seen around town sporting the beautiful beaded necklaces hand made by the Jewish women of Uganda. Patiently rolled from recycled magazines, these fancy bobbles are both stylish and environmentally responsible. Not only will they make the perfect holiday gift for any woman but every purchase gives right back to the women who made them.
Comprised of Ugandan women of Jewish, Muslim and Christian beliefs, the beading collective is a beacon of peace, hope and multi-faith; providing income, benefiting local health services, supplying clean water, mosquito nets, HIV/AIDS prevention and education and funding the construction of the new Tobin Health Center. The women who craft the necklaces take great joy in their work, taking home a tremendous sense of personal accomplishment and pride in knowing the work they do helps their families and their community. 100% of all profits generated from sales is delivered directly back to the community.
